I’m so happy you’re here.
You don’t have to know exactly what you need yet. You may just know that you love your child deeply, this world can feel like a lot, and you just want to get it right.
Take a breath, stay a while, and let’s figure it out together.
Most people have met me through the photos I’ve taken. But what happened behind them changed my life.
Over the years, a camera gave me access to so much more than the game itself. It brought me close to the athletes, the families, the coaches, the challenging moments, the celebrations, and the parts of this world most people never get to see.
The more I witnessed, the more I realized the photos were only part of the story. What I was really being trusted with was a deeper understanding of the people inside the game and what this experience was asking of them.
That changed the way I saw my work. It changed the way I understood my own son. And eventually, it changed what I knew I was here to build.
Come learn a little more about the story behind The Heather Experience.
Hi, i’m heather!
You can love your child with everything in you and still find yourself unsure of what to say, when to step in, when to stay quiet, or how to help when the way you have always loved them suddenly doesn’t seem to be reaching them.
Youth sports can be exciting and beautiful, but it can also bring pressure, disappointment, confusion, and moments that follow your child all the way home.
I know because I lived it too. And one of the first places I realized we needed more support was in the car ride home.
So I created something I wish someone had handed me sooner.
Start With
The Car Ride Home
When you're in it, the last thing you need is another late night Google search for answers, or wondering if you're the only one who doesn't know how this world works or what to say. I've walked this journey, and I've written it all down, conversation by conversation along the way, so it's waiting here for you whenever you’re ready.
This first one is my gift to you, and it's the one that helped me the most. This is the first conversation. There's a whole journey of them, and I'd love to walk the rest of it with you too.
Inside The Car Ride Home you’ll find:
Simple ways to make the ride feel safe again
What to say (and what not to say) in that first quiet minute
Why silence isn't always a bad sign
A personal letter from me, to you, for when you need a friend
what you’ll find here
